CART POLICY CARTS MAY NOT BE OPERATED BY ANYONE WHO DOES NOT HOLD A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE. Only TWO people are allowed in one cart. Carts must be operated in a safe and proper way. Care and consideration should be extended to all people on the course as well as to the condition of the course itself. Recommendations for the operation of the carts are stated clearly on the carts. Carts must stay 20 feet from GREENS and TEES. Carts must be driven on cart paths and in the rough when possible. Please observe cart signs throughout the course. In especially wet conditions, the Pro Shop will advise you as to what holes carts may be temporarily prohibited. Always cross fairway at 90 degree angle, driving from rough to rough. Any cart damage must be reported to the Pro Shop so that proper repair can be made. ORDER OF PLAY All play must start on the 1st. Tee, unless otherwise instructed by the professional staff in the Pro Shop. GOLF COURSE Soft spikes only. GROUNDS The Course Superintendent along with the Professional Staff and Club President will have full charge of opening the course for play in the Spring and closing the course to play in the Fall. These three parties are also fully responsible for closing any fairway, green or the entire course due to inclement weather or other conditions that warrant not allowing play on the course. PLEASE DO NOT PLAY THE COURSE IN THE LATE WINTER OR EARLY SPRING IF WE ARE NOT OFFICIALLY OPEN. You may hit practice balls OUT OF THE ROUGH during this time but again NO COURSE PLAY. During the day, our fine greens staff is continuously working to keep our course in the best shape possible. We ask that when a staff member is within your stroke range, let them finish their task at hand and proceed out of your range before you engage play again. GREENS It is the responsibility of ALL members to use CARE around the GREENS. PLEASE ALWAYS REPAIR YOUR BALL MARK ON THE GREEN. When replacing the flag in the cup, please use caution so that the ground around the edge of the cup is not damaged. Please use your HAND to remove the ball from the cup. DO NOT use your PUTTER as no matter how careful you are it still will cause DAMAGE to the CUP. FAIRWAYS All divots must be replaced immediately. It only takes a few seconds to replace a divot which is a great way to help keep our fairways in excellent shape. PRACTICE Practicing to greens, out of traps, or on fairways is NOT PERMITTED. The practice range is provided for this type of activity. The range is available from 7:30AM until 7:00PM Monday through Sunday. (Please rake all traps when finished playing out) GUEST POLICY Guests must be registered by a member of the Pro Shop before starting play. GUESTS ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY SIX TIMES A YEAR. MUST PLAY WITH A MEMBER (excluding tournament play) Upon paying green fees the guest will be issued a bag tag. When a member’s guest is driving a golf cart, it is the member’s responsibility to instruct the guest on cart usage on the course. (Members may bring a guest 6 times in a year - all other outside play is limited to 3 times a year. THE “OUTER LOOP” AND “INNER LOOP” The OUTER LOOP is defined as holes, 1-2-3-12-13-14-15-16-17-18. The INNER LOOP is defined as holes, 1-2-14-15-16-17-18. ANYONE PLAYING 18 HOLES HAS COMPLETE RIGHT- OF-WAY. INNER AND OUTER LOOP PLAY IS DISCOURAGED BECAUSE IT DISRUPTS PLAY. ANY PERSON PLAYING THE INNER or OUTER LOOP MUST AT ALL TIMES “YIELD” TO 18 HOLE PLAYERS. SLOW PLAY PLEASE be considerate of your fellow members. If you have a person or group behind you on the course that is waiting on the tee or in the fairway you MUST LET THEM PLAY THROUGH. Judge your pace of play. Know what time you started on the first tee and keep pace so that you have not spent more than 2 1/4 hours playing 9 holes. It is much more enjoyable for you to continue without feeling hurried by the party behind you. If you or someone in your party has lost a ball and you are using the maximum five minutes to look for it, let the party behind you play through. DRESS CODE All players should be properly attired while playing golf. Examples of clothes that are not acceptable are: dungarees, tank top shirts, inappropriate T-shirts, cut-off jeans, gym shorts and short shorts. (Tee shirts sold in pro shop allowed) The members of the Rules Committee and the Club Professional Staff will enforce the dress code with the cooperation of the other responsible officials and members of the club. Members will be advised by a letter from the board and playing rights may be suspended. CLUBHOUSE AND PRO SHOP The Pro Shop and all its contents are under the sole charge of the Golf Professional. Members who wish to participate in club tournaments are required to have an established USGA Handicap. We have a computer and are on line for handicaps. Enter your scores each time you play. If you are not sure how to use the computer ask Kevin and he will gladly show you. New members who have established a handicap from another club should report their “GHIN” number to the appropriate handicap chairman and they will transfer it to the Country Club of Greenfield. All Family memberships include 2 handicaps – additional family members wanting a handicap will be charged $40. TOURNAMENTS The Country Club of Greenfield has a varied tournament schedule with something for everyone. Tournament schedules are available in the Pro Shop and lounge. Information regarding all club tournaments will be posted in the lounge area and on bulletin boards throughout the clubhouse two to three weeks prior to the date of play. The posters will give dates, times, prices and registration deadlines. Registration for tournaments will be handled in the Pro Shop. Full payment is expected at the time of registration. Deadlines for registration are necessary so that meals can be planned by the restaurant staff and the Tournament Committee can arrange the teams and divisions of play without last minute rush. Everyone’s cooperation will be appreciated. All intra-club tournament tee times will be assigned by the tournament committee. Tee times for members not playing in intra-club tournaments are available by calling the Pro Shop. On certain weekend tournaments you may sign up early in the year for a tee time, please consult with Pro Shop. 200 CLUB The 200 CLUB is a FUN way to raise revenue for the Country Club. Past proceeds have helped to pay for equipment, new bridges, drainage, the computer, new ladies tees, table and chairs for dining room, 15th sand trap, new front door, etc. The membership fee for a 200 CLUB number includes invitations to two FREE parties. One party is a mid-summer scramble and picnic and the other is a FALL scramble and special dinner. There is NO CHARGE for these tournaments. Prizes and food are FREE. The only requirement is that you be a member in good standing of the 200 CLUB DUES. In addition, a drawing will be held each week for 20 weeks. Anyone scoring a hole-in-one (within the rules) at the club during the 20 week period will receive $100 bonus. At the FALL dinner, cash prizes ranging from $500 to $50 are awarded. The balance left over is donated to the Country Club for club projects.
